Brian Ashman
About me
Join Brian every Wednesday from 1-3pm for Magic Moments.
Name: Brain Ashman
Show: Wednesday's Magic Moments
Magic Moments is Radio Leyland’s daily vintage music, memories and nostalgia show, targeting mainly our older listeners.
Brian started off in radio by spending a long time listening to it, starting with the British and Dutch offshore ‘pirates’ of the 1960s and 1970s. After a longer period of maturation than even the best aged whisky, he secured a show on the community radio station next door (Preston), where, among other things, he hosted the daily magazine show, chaired the Steering Group and, probably because of bad behaviour, was appointed station manager.
When he's not on-air, Brian spends all his time messing about with faffy stuff and never gets anything done. Although he thinks that having favourite things is a bit juvenile, he’s adamant that Count Arthur Strong is the bestest thing ever since sliced bread. His musical tastes range from 50s crooners to Van der Graaf Generator (and back again). Although his favourite song is Terence Trent Derby’s Sign Your name, he’s very hesitant to say so due to never being sure if it’s Derby, Darby, D’Arby or ??? Unlike Les Adam, he loves fish.
Brian is perfect in every way and you can verify his barefaced mendacity on Wednesdays between 1 pm and 3 pm. Who writes this? I’ll give it five.
