Stuart is a former magazine journalist and designer, now earning a crust as a software developer alongside a lifetime spent in the creative arts - including theatre, film and TV - and trained musician (organ, piano, keyboards, french horn and trumpet). Radio has been the one area he hadn't worked in until joining Radio Leyland.
His favourite music is wide and varied - classical (all ages and genres), jazz, film, musical theatre, rock and pop - and a personal connection to Big Band (his father played piano in one or two of the less well known bands in the 30s and 40s) has led to a love of the music and the present show. He is happily married to Barbara Dollin who presents Thursday's Magic Moments.
When not on the radio, Stuart is always thinking of new programme ideas, wrestling with a knotty software problem, writing that kids' novel I've always said I'd finish and cooking all sorts of new and tasty dishes for tea.
